Emergency Warning and Intercommunication Systems (EWIS), also known as Sound and Intercom Systems for Emergency Purposes, provide building fire wardens with both manual and automatic controlled evacuation from buildings. EWIS can be configured to provide staged evacuation in accordance with the building’s Emergency Control Organisation’s requirements. Wardens are able to communicate with each other throughout the facility via a network of installed warden intercom phones (WIP).
These Systems require an Inspection and Test regime as per Australian Standard AS1851 – of Monthly, Six Monthly, Yearly & 5-yearly. Fire alarm, fire panel and fire detection servicing must be carried out on a regular basis in accordance with the AS1851. As stated by Australian standard, our experienced technicians perform monthly functional tests and 1 annual test assessing detection, sound, occupant warning etc.
